Big Old Lake 03:42
Packed up the car and we headed east We didn’t stop til we lost the keys in Lake Michigan Hello again Big Old Lake you Been Waiting For Me To come Home Where is it at? Been gone So Long cant find my way Where is it at? Been gone for so long been gone. She got two hearts and she carried them back Two sets of teeth and six eyes The other got nothing to count on or keep And she shouts leave me behind To come Home Where is it at? Been gone So Long cant find my way Where is it at? Been gone for so long been gone. Oh I’m walking in the mountains And this looks like my home Oh walking in the mountains Walking in the mountains home Oh I’m walking in the mountains And this looks like my home Oh walking in the mountains Walking in the mountains home. Packed up the car and we headed east We didn’t stop til we lost the keys in Lake Michigan hello again Big old lake you been waiting for me To come Home Where is it at? Been gone So Long cant find my way Where is it at? Been gone for so long been gone.

Whistle Bird 03:39
Have you ever heard The whistle of your lovers bird Flying around in the chambers of your heart Well I’ve heard A whistle bird and I’ve heard my twin heart bird And I’ve heard a very sad bird in my heart Love whistle. And have you ever seen The great unfolding of an orange flower And the sun showering beams Universal light it seems Opening and why can’t we In the chambers of my heart Love whistle. Well I’ve heard A whistle bird I’ve heard my twin heart bird And I’ve heard a very sad bird in my heart. And I’ve heard A whistle bird. And I’ve heard my twin heart bird. And I’ve heard a very sad bird in my heart. Love whistle.

Oh Delia 04:55
Oh Delia you’re coming back again Oh Delia you are my best friend Oh Delia, Oh Delia. And I wonder about you, The bark dust in your eyes And I wonder about you Painted purple nights. And I wonder about you, So love torn and destroyed no no. La da dee day, la deed a dee day dee dee dee. Oh Delia come in from the cold It’s been a long long time I love you and I know you Delia. Oh Delia. And I wonder about you, The bark dust in your eyes. And I wonder about you, Painted purple nights. And I wonder about you, So love torn and destroyed no no no. La da dee day, la deed a dee day, dee dee dee. La da dee day, la deed a dee day, dee dee dee. And I wonder about you, The bark dust in your eyes. And I wonder about you, Painted purple nights. And I wonder about you, So love torn and destroyed no no no. La da dee day, la deed a dee day, dee dee dee. La da dee day, la deed a dee day, dee dee dee.

Hug You Hug 03:10
It’s not right to live with the fantasy of ages holding itself to my eyes. I can’t unmemorize it but I can keep trying to find out to find. Hug you hug sleep while sleep in the longest dream. Hug you hug sleep while sleep in the longest dream. Now how to navigate the river of lost ways that splashes itself on my head. I will never unwind this and won’t even try let me swim instead. Hug you hug sleep while sleep in the longest dream. Hug you hug sleep while sleep in the longest dream.

Gather It Up 04:14
I saw a bee flying collecting pollen from flowers And I gather love just like them drawn to sweet things I go on For miles and miles and miles and miles I go On for I’m drawn to sweet things I go on for miles You know And gather it up. I see the light dancing on the green grasses green stems movement Slowly and fastly and slowly and fastly and slowly I gather myself into the center I go And I light a candle for all of those passing I know I know I’ve gathered it up. I heard a bird sing a song that was sweet to my ears And just like them we gather and weave things to share And I heard a song about the end of all beautiful things. And I heard a song that said hold on to everything that love brings you And gather it up. Ooo. Ooo.

Lonely Owl 02:39
This heart is a ringing bell This heart is a ringing bell A lonely owl A bone eater Wide eyes in the night A lonely owl A bone eater Wide eyes in the night Oh you love, Oh you love. I don’t know where the winds go when they leave My heart races to see the landscapes they live in And I too must sometimes blow away I’m not a water bird I’m a desert sky that’s burning. This heart is a ringing bell This heart is a ringing bell A lonely owl A bone eater Wide eyes in the night A lonely owl A bone eater Wide eyes in the night Oh you love, Oh you love, Oh you.

I was a wallflower The prettiest kind Til you came along With your bright penny eyes You took me by the hand and up in a swirl And I’m drowning in happiness I’m wearing all my pretty dresses But I miss my wallflowerness. I been to all your parties Oh I danced with all your friends And I’m drowning in happiness I’m wearing all my pretty dresses But I miss my wallflowerness. I was a wallflower The prettiest kind A lilly of the valley A sweet blooming vine Til you came on And rushed me out the door. I’m drowning in happiness Wearing all my pretty dresses But I miss my wallflowerness. I’m drowning in happiness Wearing all my pretty dresses But I miss my wallflowerness

Gonna dip and spin little swallow Gonna dip and spin all day Gonna dip and spin til the money rolls in To the rollin’ hills of the farmer Gonna dip and spin little swallow Gonna dip and spin all day Gonna dip and spin til the money rolls in To the rollin’ hills of the farmer How long How long How long Does it take to find a four leaf clover? And the tractor keeps on rollin And the roots are runnin deep And the miles they log the miles they log No one ever keeps. And the sun it sets and rises And the moon puts us to sleep And the light upon the leafy fields Is beautiful to me. Gonna dip and spin little swallow Gonna dip and spin all day Gonna dip and spin til the money rolls in To the rollin’ hills of the farmer Gonna dip and spin little swallow Gonna dip and spin all day Gonna dip and spin til the money rolls in To the rollin’ hills of the farmer I said How long How long How long Does it take to find a four leaf clover?

Long night of crying After you left. Left me the letter sayin' You ain't comin' back. Why you leaving so soon, Leaving so soon, Why you leaving so soon? Ooh. Ooooh. Now I take an aspirin so I can Head off this headache And head off this heart break And head off to bed. Why you leaving so soon? Leaving so soon? Why you leaving so soon? Oooh. Oooooooooh. And I'm moving slowly Without you in my morning 'Cause there's no cup of coffee Stronger than you. Why you leaving so soon? Leaving so soon? Why you leaving so soon? Ooooooh. Oooooh. Ooooh.

about

Produced in 2011 with Skyler Norwood (Blind Pilot, Horse Feathers) album Take The Air is lucid and timeless, steeped in the sadness of the past but glinting with the honey-blossomed intention of an unknown future. Rawling's soulful songs speak from a depth of experience and integrity not often found in modern music, while Parks weaves gentle textures of haunting string melodies around and through the rolling audio landscape. The duo played together in two other Portland-based groups (On the Stairs & Fast Rattler) before giving proper energy to their debut album in September of 2011. This release varnishes the dark oak of the world with a sinewy timbre not soon forgotten.
